Recap: Juice Los Angeles Grand Opening!

Saturday, July, 17th saw the official grand opening of JUICE Los Angeles. The event was a success, with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony by co-founder Edison Chen and the JUICE LA team, as well as traditional Chinese lion dancing, food, drinks and live music.

The retail store opened its inaugural doors in Hong Kong back in the early 2000s, and has since garnered a cult following thanks to its close ties with streetwear imprint CLOT and its many other coveted, international brands. More than just a space of commerce, JUICE as a brand has always functioned as more of a cultural haven, from its design aesthetic to the myriad events hosted in its many locations around the world, to the very products it carries—all carefully selected by co-founders Edison Chen and Kevin Poon.

Continuing this ethos of providing a cultural hang-out space, the new JUICE Los Angeles location isn’t just a stop-and-shop spot. It’s a place to go and engage with likeminded people; a streetwear oasis within the heart of Downtown Los Angeles where you can hang and take in that day’s flavor from Kuumba’s many incense fragrances. It’s a museum where you can appreciate contemporary art and design pieces curated by Edison himself—many of which come from his personal collection. Or simply come in to stunt your fit and maybe even elevate it from that Undercover piece you just noticed hanging on the rack.

The grand opening of JUICE Los Angeles also coincided with the release of the latest CLOT collaboration with Nike: the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 K.O.D. “Solar Red,” which marks the final chapter to CLOT’s reissuing of the highly sought-after “K.O.D” colorways. And as such, we saw a healthy lineup of sneaker- and streetwear-heads—a sight for sore eyes given the turbulent year we’ve all experienced. While maintaining safe practices, the opening event marked yet another successful landmark in JUICE’s nearly-decade long history. With stores already opened in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Taichung and Chengdu, Los Angeles marks the first location outside of Asia, with possible plans to expand even further in the future.

Check out our visual recap of the event, and be sure to stop by the store if you’re in the City of Angels.
