There are many well-known Japanese denim manufacturers, but at the time that FDMTL was founded in 2005, none were making jeans that Gaku Tsuyoshi was looking for. He began creating his own jeans; and so, FDMTL was born.

Having recently collaborated with CLOT’s creative director Edison Chen on a special release of CLOT x VANQUISH jeans, we have a chat with the multidisciplinary designer Ishikawa on his take on Japanese denim.

Using the finest classic Japanese raw denim and new craftsmanship, the expression of wear and tear is present in the two styles designed in this collection.
